At the request of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, our community is hosting the national Archdiocese St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival during the weekend of June 4-6. Eightreen Greek Orthodox young people, accompanied by their family and friends will gather here, each representing their own Metropolis. In their very best oratory they will be sharing their love and knowledge of their Orthodox faith.
Our planning committee has been preparing for this very special weekend. In addition to the Oratorical Festival on Saturday morning, we are offering a weekend of fellowship, recreation and food to our guests. A Youth Night, an Awards Luncheon, a tour of the Big Apple, a New York Harbor Cruise and a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and Reception are among the weekend's activities.
Your financial support is vital for the National Oratorical Festival's success. Your generous contributions will be used to host these talented young people, their families and our honored guests. It will also provide fellowship and faith-enhancing time spent with other inspiring Greek Orthodox youth. Additionally, the funds you contribute in excess of the weekend's expenses will help provide college scholarships to the top three speakers in each of the Divisions.
There are several sponsorship opportunities at various levels available and we kindly ask our parishioners to consider supporting the festival in some way. Please download the form below. We thank you in advance for your kind generosity in support of our youth!
We invite you to join His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios in our Holy Cathedral on Saturday, June 5th at 9:30am.
